Минздрав предупреждает: курение вредит вашему здоровью
Национальный музей трубок в Амстердаме – это единственный музей в мире, где можно курить.
Для нас с дочкой это наилучшая антиреклама. Но муж, курящий трубку, очень просил нас составить ему компанию. И мы согласились…
Зашли в неприметный вход Pipe Museum на Prinsengracht 488.
Музей начинается с магазина трубок.
Нас встретил неприветливый служитель этого заведения, скептически осмотревший нашу компанию.
На расспросы мужа о глиняных трубках он толково объяснил принципы их чистки, которые мы даже поняли несмотря на наш плохой английский.
Но дальше выяснения цены за трубки дело не пошло… мы, не смущаясь, поцокали языками о дороговизне изделий в этом магазине.
… И нервный служитель магазина-музея явным образом рассердился.
Вряд ли мы уже узнаем из-за чего. То ли из-за того, что мы пришли и, как все предыдущие посетители, ничего не купили, то ли из-за того, что мы не поняли, что он зазывал нас в музей, то ли просто его всё достало…
Но он начал практически дергаться от злости. Не дал нам пофотографировать в магазине.
Этого ему показалось мало: он выскочил из помещения на крыльцо и шуганул сидевшую на ступеньках молодежь!
Ошарашенные таким «душевным» приемом мы покинули сие заведение, не без удовольствия выйдя на свежий воздух.
2000 курительных трубок, выставленные в витринах музея, много потеряли, лишившись нашего посещения.
Весь фонд музея составляет аж 30 000 курительных трубок – это обзор истории курения на пяти континентах с древнейших времен (500 до н. э.).

Ministry of Health warns: smoking harms your health
The National Pipe Museum in Amsterdam is the only smoking museum in the world.

We went into the inconspicuous entrance of the Pipe Museum at Prinsengracht 488.
The museum begins with a pipe shop.
We were greeted by an unfriendly minister of this establishment, who was skeptical about our company.
When asked by her husband about clay pipes, he intelligently explained the principles of cleaning them, which we even understood despite our poor English. But it didn’t go further than asking for the price of the pipes … we, without embarrassment, clapped our tongues about the high cost of products in this store.
… And the nervous attendant of the store-museum was obviously angry.
It is unlikely that we will already know why. Either because we came and, like all previous visitors, didn’t buy anything, or because we didn’t understand that he was inviting us to the museum, or simply that he was tired of everything …
But he began to almost twitch with anger. He didn’t let us take pictures in the store.
This did not seem enough to him: he jumped out of the room onto the porch and shooed the youth sitting on the steps!
Dumbfounded by such a «sincere» reception, we left this place, not without pleasure going out into the fresh air.
