Скандинавы как большие любители различной мистики и легенд придумали свою легенду происхождения прекрасной сирени.

Весна соединила лучи солнца и радуги, и все втроем они пошли украшать землю. So they reached Scandinavia, but it turned out that the friends showered the earth so generously that the rainbow had only purple rays. With no choice, spring showered Scandinavia with lilac flowers. This is how the purple lilac appeared.
Then spring thought that there were a lot of purple flowers, and she only had white rays of the sun. Then spring began to shower Scandinavia with white flowers, and so white lilacs also appeared. That is why white lilac blooms a little later than lilac.
