День защиты и уважения детей/ Children’s Day of Protection and Respect

Этот памятный день — День защиты детей — возник сразу после Второй мировой войны.

Огромное количество детей пострадало от жестоких разборок взрослых, совершаемых в ходе борьбы друг с другом с оружием в руках: беззащитные сироты, обездоленные, недоедающие, подвергаемые насилию…

Вопрос защиты детей был в то время суперактуальным. 

Прошло 70 лет. Немало воды утекло. 

Но эти категории детей, к сожалению, не ушли из нашей жизни полностью.

Продолжает литься кровь в ходе военных действий, погибают дети при террористических актах, есть места на земле, где не хватает еды, нещадно эксплуатируется детский труд, практикуется рукоприкладство в семье…

Не знаю статистики, но хочется верить, что в абсолютных цифрах количество детей, страдающих в наше время от такого рода лишений и угнетения, сильно меньше. Тем не менее, печально и возмутительно, что на нашей земле живут дети, которые подвергаются насилию, голодают, не имеют дома… 

Но это только очевидные случаи, когда дети нуждаются в защите. 

За прошедшие десятилетия понятия несвободы детей и насилия над ними перетекло скорее в иную плоскость гораздо более тонких нюансов отношений детей с родителями и другими взрослыми. 

Сейчас сложнее выявить насилие в обычных семьях в тех случаях, когда детей просто не уважают, не учитывают их мнения, не желают мириться с их самостоятельностью, подавляют устремления детей родительским авторитетом, заставляют выбирать навязанные взрослыми решения, причем, как терпимыми, так и нетерпимыми методами. 

Довольно трудно отделить в этом вопросе воспитание в детях усидчивости и трудолюбия, праведную борьбу родителей с ленью детей, попытки научить детей ежедневной домашней работе от реального насилия над личностью. 

Вопросы защиты детей плавно перетекают в сферу психологического давления и неуважения их взрослыми.

Сейчас эти вопросы для детей и подростков становятся очень важными. 

Регулярно сталкиваюсь на просторах интернета с обсуждением вопросов разнообразного ущемления прав детей под лозунгом «Мы против дискриминации по возрастному признаку, и за радикальное освобождение молодежи!».

Чтобы этот памятный день касался не только детей, страдающих от вопиющих несовершенств нашего мира, а и всех детей, мне представляется правильным расширить его границы, назвав его Днем защиты и уважения детей. 

Тогда каждому взрослому будет, о чем призадуматься в этот день, и эта дата будет иметь отношение ко всем детям. 

А нам, взрослым, будет понятно, о чем подумать и что сделать в этот день для наших любимых детей.

This memorable day — Children Protection Day — emerged immediately after the Second World War.

A huge number of children have suffered from the brutal showdown of adults during the fight with each other with weapons in their hands: defenseless orphans, disadvantaged, malnourished, subjected to violence …

The issue of child protection was at the top of the agenda at the time.

70 years have passed. A lot of water has flown under the bridge.

But these categories of children, unfortunately, have not completely disappeared from our lives.

Blood continues to shed during hostilities, children are killed in terrorist attacks, there are places on earth where there is not enough food, child labor is mercilessly exploited, family violence is practiced …

I don’t know the statistics, but I want to believe that in absolute numbers there are much fewer children suffering from this kind of deprivation and oppression in our time. Nevertheless, it is sad and outrageous that there are children living on our land who are abused, starving, and have no home …

But these are only obvious cases where children need protection.

Over the past decades, the concept of the lack of freedom of children and violence against them has spilled over into a different plane of much more subtle nuances of children’s relations with their parents and other adults.

Now it is more difficult to identify violence in ordinary families in cases where children are simply not respected, their opinions are not taken into account, they do not want to put up with their independence, suppress the aspirations of children by parental authority, force them to choose decisions imposed by adults, both by tolerant and intolerant methods. …

It is rather difficult to separate in this matter the education of perseverance and diligence in children, the righteous struggle of parents with the laziness of children, attempts to teach children daily homework from real violence against the individual.

The issues of protecting children smoothly flow into the sphere of psychological pressure and disrespect for them by adults.

Now these questions for children and adolescents are becoming very important.

I regularly come across on the Internet with the discussion of issues of various infringement of the rights of children under the slogan «We are against discrimination on the basis of age, and for the radical liberation of youth!»

For this memorable day to concern not only children suffering from the glaring imperfections of our world, but also all children, it seems to me correct to expand its boundaries, calling it the Day of Protection and Respect for Children.

Then every adult will have something to think about on this day, and this date will be relevant to all children.

And we, adults, will understand what to think about and what to do on this day for our beloved children.
