Помните сказку «Гензель и Гретель» всеми любимых братьев Гримм?

После первого издания этой сказки в 1812 году пряничные домики стали лидерами продаж на рождественских ярмарках Европы.

Удивительно – но именно сказка положила начало моде на пряничные домики. После публикации книги братьев Гримм такие домики стали пользоваться невероятной популярностью. Тогда же вспомнили древних римлян и рукопись XIV столетия со сказочной страной Кокань, в которой, согласно рукописи, был дом из сладостей.

Дети, читавшие сказку, мечтали о чудесных пряничных домиках. Первые такие домики начали печь родители для своих чад, а затем, как это частенько бывает, началось их массовое производство. Появились домики на любой вкус. К праздникам, а особенно к Рождеству, проводились конкурсы на самый красивый пряничный домик.

Всеобщему увлечению способствовало и то, что было изобретено специальное пряничное тесто, которое долго не черствело. Домиком можно было любоваться всё Рождество, а потом с удовольствием съесть сладкое вкусное лакомство.

Пряничное тесто черствеет 2-3 недели, затем становясь невкусным.

Записи о медовых пряниках можно проследить до древнего Рима. Историки кулинарии утверждают, что имбирем приправляли продукты питания и напитки с незапамятных времен. Считается, что пряники впервые начали выпекать в Европе в конце XI века, когда вернувшиеся крестоносцы привезли с Ближнего Востока обычай пряного хлеба.

На самом деле точно неизвестно, когда появилось первое съедобное жилище. Но в Древнем Риме строить домики из теста, изображающие «жилища» богов в домашнем пантеоне, было уже традицией.

Такой домик некоторое время украшал семейный алтарь, а затем съедался всеми членами семьи. Причём, съедался он не просто так, а со смыслом. Жители древнего Рима, таким образом, выражали своё почтение к богам.

С приходом в европейские страны христианства подобные языческие поверья и обычаи стали не актуальны в отличие от популярности пряничных домиков, которая с XIX века начала только нарастать.

Когда эта рождественская традиция появилась и стала модной в России, я подумала, что неплохо было бы всем вместе сделать такой рождественский пряничный домик. Тем более, что начали продаваться готовые наборы с уже выпеченными имбирными стенками и крышей домика – его нужно было только собрать и украсить глазурью.

Конечно, такое развлечение интересно, когда в семье есть дети, которые будут участвовать в его украшении, а потом с аппетитом им лакомиться.

Но к тому времени, когда я обратила внимание на пряничные домики, сын стал уже взрослым, а дочка тоже уже переросла возраст интереса к таким семейным кулинарным радостям и желания делать милый сладкий домик на Рождество не выражала.

А ведь было время… пекли имбирное печенье всей семьей.

С той поры прошло уже n-ное количество лет, изменчивая мода предлагала нам разнообразные рецепты новых лакомств, но традиция изготовления рождественских пряничных домиков остается до сих пор неизменной. Я думаю, что радость прикосновения к яркому рождественскому сладкому чуду так же сильна в детских душах, как и в старые времена. Ведь пряничный домик — это ощущение дома и сердечного тепла, семейного праздника и взаимной любви. Кто не верит – проверьте.

В этом году появилась возможность порадовать пряничным домиком маленькую внучку, что её родители и поспешили сделать.

Из готового набора и глазури у них получился уютный сказочный домик, который украшал праздничный стол в семье сына и радовал взрослых и ребенка своей пряничной сладостью.

В этот светлый чудесный праздник от всего сердца желаю всем мира, взаимной любви, добра, поменьше испытаний и побольше радости, благополучия, крепкого здоровья, уюта в доме и незатухающего огня в семейном очаге.

Краткий сюжет сказки, давшей жизнь пряничному домику

Под угрозой голода отец двух детей, мальчика и девочки – Гензеля и Гретель, поддался уговорам новой жены и согласился избавиться от своих детей, оставив их на погибель в лесной чаще.

Дети, подслушавшие разговор взрослых, придумали, как им спастись. В первый раз, когда отец повел их в лес, мальчик бросал камушки на дорогу. По этим указателям ребятишки вернулись домой.

В следующий раз, когда отец вновь повел детей в лес, камушков при себе у мальчика уже не было. Поэтому он бросал на землю хлебные крошки. Но их склевали птицы, и дети не смогли найти пути обратно.

Брата с сестрой, заплутавших в лесу, белоснежная птица привела к необычному дому. Он был сделан из пряников, а окна — из сахара. Там они оказались в ловушке ведьмы, поедающей детей. Старуха держала какое-то время брата в клетке. Сестра же под угрозами старухи в течение четырёх недель откармливала его на съедение.

Гензелю удалось обмануть слабовидящую людоедку, показав ей косточку, которую та приняла за его худой палец. Но, не в силах дольше ждать, коварная старуха решила заживо поджарить девочку. Находчивая Гретель перехитрила злодейку, отправив ее саму в горящую печку.

Чтобы добраться домой, детям пришлось с помощью уточки переплыть широкую реку, а дальше они отыскивали дорогу домой по лесным приметам.

Пока брата с сестрой не было, их мачехи не стало. Дети остались жить с отцом в мире и достатке, который обрели благодаря прихваченным из дома злой ведьмы сокровищам.

There are houses for every taste. For the holidays, and especially for Christmas, competitions were held for the most beautiful gingerbread house.

The general enthusiasm was also facilitated by the fact that a special gingerbread dough was invented, which did not get stale for a long time. You could admire the house all Christmas, and then eat a sweet tasty treat with pleasure.

Records of honey gingerbread can be traced back to ancient Rome. Culinary historians claim that ginger has been flavored with foods and drinks since time immemorial. In fact, it is not known exactly when the first edible dwelling appeared. But in ancient Rome, it was already a tradition to build houses from dough, as the “dwellings” of the gods in your home pantheon.

Such a house adorned the family altar for some time, and then was eaten by all family members. Moreover, he was eaten not just like that, but with meaning. The inhabitants of ancient Rome, thus, expressed their reverence for the gods.

Such pagan beliefs and customs with the advent of Christianity in European countries became irrelevant, in contrast to the popularity of gingerbread houses, which has only begun to grow since the 19th century.

When this Christmas tradition appeared and became fashionable in Russia, I thought that it would be nice for everyone to make such a Christmas gingerbread house together. Moreover, ready-made sets with already baked ginger walls and the roof of the house began to be sold — it only needed to be assembled and decorated with glaze.

Of course, such entertainment is interesting when there are children in the family who will participate in decorating it, and then feast on it with gusto.

But by the time I paid attention to gingerbread houses, my son was already an adult, and my daughter had also already outgrown the age of interest in such family culinary joys and did not express a desire to make a cute sweet house for Christmas.

But there was a time… they baked gingerbread cookies with the whole family.

Since then, n-th number of years have passed, changeable fashion offered us a variety of recipes for new delicacies, but the tradition of making Christmas gingerbread houses still remains unchanged. I think the joy of touching a bright Christmas sweet wonder is just as strong in children’s souls as it was in the old days. After all, a gingerbread house is a feeling of home and warmth, a family holiday and mutual love. Who does not believe — check.

This year there was an opportunity to please a little granddaughter with a gingerbread house, which her parents hurried to do.

From the finished set and icing, they got a cozy fairy-tale house that decorated the festive table in the son’s family and delighted adults and children with its gingerbread sweetness.

On this bright wonderful holiday, with all my heart I wish everyone peace, mutual love, kindness, less trials and more joy, prosperity, good health, comfort in the house and an unquenchable fire in the family hearth.

A brief plot of the fairy tale that gave life to the gingerbread house

Under the threat of starvation, the father of two children, a boy and a girl — Hansel and Gretel, succumbs to the persuasion of his new wife to get rid of her non-native children, leaving them to perish in the forest thicket.

Children who overheard the conversation of adults figured out how to save themselves. The first time their father took them into the woods, the boy threw pebbles into the road. The children followed these signs back home.

The next time, when the father again took the children to the forest, the boy no longer had pebbles with him. So he threw bread crumbs on the ground. But the birds glued them together, and the children could not find their way back.

Brother and sister, lost in the forest, a snow-white bird led to an unusual house. It was made from gingerbread and the windows were made from sugar. There they were trapped by a child-eating witch. The old woman kept her brother in a cage for some time. The sister, under the threats of the old woman, fattened him for four weeks to be eaten.

Hansel managed to deceive the visually impaired cannibal by showing her a bone, which she mistook for his thin finger. But, unable to wait longer, the treacherous old woman decided to fry the girl alive. The resourceful Gretel outwitted the villain by sending her into the burning stove herself.

To get home, children have to swim across a wide river with the help of a duck, and then they learn the way home from forest signs.

While the brother and sister were gone, their stepmother was gone. The children stayed with their father in peace and prosperity, which they gained thanks to the treasures taken from the house of the evil witch.
